JR Freight uses the "IT-FRENS & TRACE system," a comprehensive management system for rail container transport, and the "PRANETS system," which uses GPS to pinpoint the train's location and provides information to drivers to support driving operations. This allows us to track the location of containers and trains, and provide customers with transport status on our website.
IT-FRENS&TRACE system : reliable and swift management of rail container transport
IT-FRENS&TRACE system is an internet-based comprehensive management system for rail container transport.
It is mainly composed of three systems:
• "IT-FRENS system" has a transport capacity adjustment function that checks transport reservations and application details and automatically adjusts train reservations according to available slot. It also has a train transport management function that shares information such as train composition and loading status.
• "TRACE system" uses IT device installed on forklifts to locate container within freight stations and manage the work of forklift operators by
using GPS and RFID tag technology
• "Driver system" supports the work and operation management of collection and delivery trucks.
These systems enable efficient transport of cargo entrusted to us by our customers and accurate transport status.

We utilize the "PRANETS" system, which uses GPS to pinpoint train locations and provides drivers with information to support operational control.
To ensure a safer and more stable transportation, the train location information will enable quicker responses in case train delays and others.

Train location information used to support drivers is shared and updated every two minutes, ensuring stable transport.
■ We inform you of delays to your freight trains.
In the event that a freight train is delayed due to natural disasters or other various reasons, we will notify customers of the delay affecting their cargo.
